A good swimsuit is more than just a summer essential. It is an investment in comfort, confidence and style. At The Thirties, we design fully lined, high quality swimwear made in Canada, often with recycled fabrics, so it deserves the best care. With the right habits, your swimsuit can stay beautiful and supportive for many seasons.

1. Rinse after every swim
Salt water, chlorine and sunscreen can damage fabrics. Always rinse your swimsuit in cool, fresh water right after wearing it. This prevents buildup and helps preserve the fibers.

2. Hand wash gently
Machine washing is too harsh. Instead, hand wash your swimsuit with a gentle soap or a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners or harsh chemicals that can weaken the fabric.

3. Never wring or twist
It might be tempting to squeeze out the water, but twisting can stretch out the elastic fibers. Gently press your swimsuit in a towel to remove excess water.

4. Dry flat in the shade
Never put your swimsuit in the dryer or leave it in direct sunlight for too long. Both can fade colors and weaken elasticity. Lay it flat on a towel in the shade to dry naturally.

5. Rotate your swimsuits
If you swim often, try not to wear the same swimsuit every day. Giving your swims a rest day helps them maintain their shape longer.

Designed for durability
At The Thirties, all our swimsuits are fully lined for comfort and support, and many are made with recycled nylon and lycra. With the right care, they will last season after season, reducing waste and helping you embrace our mantra: Have less. Be more.
